More than a house--Home's for Oklahoma's children in foster care.

Anna's House provides homes for our foster children and support to the foster parents raising them.

"There are about 11,000 children in Oklahoma's foster care system. Our heart's passion is to provide these children a home and support the foster families that are dedicated to raising them," says Darci Oplotnik, Executive Director, Anna's House.

Anna's House Foundation provides a personal network of support for families caring for children in foster care.  Anna's House offers  a future of hope by building homes that house up to 5 foster children each in the context of a rural community.  While Anna's House certifies families throughout Central Oklahoma to foster children, The Anna's House Foster Care Community in Luther, Ok specifically focuses on maintaining sibling connections by placing siblings together in a single home. 

Darci noted, "We know children need stability and a community to have a better chance in life. A few years ago we were granted a 99 year lease on 10 acres in Luther. Since then we've built 4 homes, with a goal of 8.  To date 33 children and 9 sibling groups have called the Community home.  currently 3 homes are in operation and a fourth is nearing completion. "

It's a beautiful setting. The community offers kids a stable place to live, dream and hope--chickens, goats, a playground and committed neighbors make the setting both peaceful and fun.

It's also an incredible resource for the parents that have stepped into the foster care initiative.

Jeff and Laura Degiacomo,  said, "To be honest, without Anna’s House Foundation we probably would not have survived our foster care placement. As we received our first foster placement, they gave us access to so many resources such as clothes, diapers, formula, car seats, toys, etc. The training Anna’s House Foundation provided us as we began this journey was simply incredible."

Anna's House is grateful for what so many have done yet, there's more work to do. Over half of the children in foster care are under six and move three times in their first year of state custody. Currently 50% of siblings are separated when brought into state custody and Anna's House is designed to help solve this problem.

On September 24th, Anna's House will host its annual Gala celebrating the good work done in the foster care initiative and prepare to do more. A growing list of sponsors are partnering to share and support construction of the next home at Anna's House Foster Care Community.

Anna's House Foundation, companies and community leaders are preparing to build another house for 5 more foster children. The efforts to fund the next home will culminate at the Gala event.
